PYB Travel Tryout Information 2023/2024
If your child is interested in trying out for our travel teams please read the Travel FAQ on our web site and register your player for the recreational program.
Travel tryouts will take place Monday, October 9th* – Portsmouth Middle School Gym
6pm – 4th & 5th Grade (Boys & Girls)
7pm – 6th & 7th Grade (Boys & Girls)
8pm – 8th Grade (Boys and Girls)
**Please read all the information below before tryouts. If your son/daughter is chosen to participate we want to make sure you completely understand the expectations.
PLAYING TIME: At PYB we have a unique situation where all Travel players participate in the Rec league. This allows for adequate playing time for players. For Travel there is no minimum amount of playing time. While coaches try to get players into every game, playing time is not guaranteed.
PRACTICE PLAYERS: Some teams may elect to have practice players. This gives players the opportunity of improving their game at practice. Coaches are not obligated to play practice players in games.
TIME COMMITMENT/FINANCIAL: Practices will start the first week of November and the season will end mid March. There will be one or two practices per week (varies by team). Cost and Time TBA by mid September. Uniforms are additional costs.
